Game #1

Today was both my 5 yr.old and my 7 yr olds first soccer games of the season. Our first game was at 11:45 and our second game was at 2:15. Both of their teams won their games today, YAY..........they are so excited!

I filled in for my husband as a coach today on my son's team. I was a bit nervous until I actually began and then I found that it was a lot of fun. I think that this was the first game that I really got to pay 100% complete attention to everything that was going on. There are definitely some advantages to being in the middle of the field the entire game. (I am looking forward to filling in for him the next time)!

Let me just say, there are a world of differences between Kindergarten & 1st/2nd grade divisions, WOW! Not only are the rules strictly enforced in the 1st/2nd grade division but it is amazing how much better the kids play in only a years time. Kindergarten is more about getting the kids to enjoy the game and learn the different positions.

All in all today was a good day. My kids had fun, I had fun, and the weather was perfect for playing soccer at 70*degrees, (it's supposed to snow in the next couple of days), weird?

Saturdays for us from now until the end of soccer season will be very busy, but also very rewarding. Here's to sunshine, soccer balls, Saturday's, smudged little faces and incredibly happy children.
